The Canton of Baelfire Dunn is the local chapter of the Society for Creative Anachronisms (SCA) covering the areas of Caldwell, Burke, Catawba, Alexander, and Iredell counties in the western part of North Carolina.

The SCA is a 501c3 non-profit organization founded in Berkley California in 1966  dedicated to the research, education, and re-enactment of lands and cultures which existed between the years 600AD and 1600AD. It has grown to establish branches all over the world.

The Canton of Baelfire Dunn is part of the Barony of the Sacred Stone, which is in the Kingom of Atlantia.

The official Canton meeting is the 2nd Sunday of the month at 3PM at Bunker Hill High School.

4675 Oxford School Road
Claremont, North Carolina 28610

The canton meets to conduct business, spend time with our friends, and practice our various fighting arts. If you are new to the SCA, virtually every group has an officer to help guide and assist newcomers, called the Chatelaine/Castellan (or Gold Key). Please contact Baelfire Dunn's Chatelaine, Ronquor Hrimskegg for more information.

SCA events typically feature tournaments of fencing, archery or armored combat (the SCA's own sport based on medieval tournament-style combat) music and singing, feasting, courts, arts displays and competitions, classes on topics of interest, Royal Court (where awards are given), dancing, singing, and activities for children -- just about anything having to do with the Middle Ages that our members can think to do or recreate!
